Stairway Values
We have a set of Stairway Values that underpin the way we work. These are:
Customer-focus: we place high value on adding value to our clients, on meeting their needs and delivering excellent service
Partnering: we place high importance on building close, long term relationships that are both supportive and challenging, which provide inspiration and encouragement and where it is fine to take risks.
Learning: we place high value in continuing to learn and develop and encourage others to do the same.
Integrity: we keep our promises, are open, honest and fair
Passion: we work in areas and use approaches that we have energy for and are passionate about, we encourage others to do the same.
Diversity: we work with a diversity of consultants, clients and approaches in order to increase the opportunities for creativity. We work from the basis that people generally want to be and do their best.
Stairway supports Anthony Nolan Trust
Sunday 19th April was a testing day for some of the Stairway team. The Anthony Nolan Trust organised a sponsored walk in Windsor Great Park and as our way of contributing to the charity we packed our sandwiches and drinks and strode off. Although we at Stairway may be top of the tree in our field we realised that, for some of us, striding through the great outdoors for at least ten miles might be a little more challenging than we'd thought. The team had come prepared. Jackets, boots, hats and sticking plasters at the ready but they were not needed. As luck would have it, the weather was perfect. Slightly overcast, occasional sunshine, warm but not baking and dry. Anthony Nolan marshals had laid out the route with helpful signs and refreshment stops. The event could not have been better organised and at 10 am we were off. Stairway participation in similar events has always had a great turnout. Last year we learned to row a Dragon boat for Cancer Research. Other events have included a sponsored triathlon in London's Dockland and a mountain bike challenge. Although most of us live only a short distance from the Great Park none of us had ever really explored it and the sponsored walk provided a bit of an eye opener. Of course, we knew the Park is big. But this big? Our ten miles covered just a part of it and included Virginia Water and Smiths Lawn Polo field where a veterans day was taking place. The walk gave us the opportunity not only to raise money for Anthony Nolan but to enjoy each other's company in a different and beautiful environment whilst having a great day out. As a team building event it was pretty good too.
